Never had the same feeling as Jonah, why bother?

Nineveh was oppressing Israel at the time. Jonah did not go to Nineveh because he was afraid that they WOULD repent (which they did). He would have much preferred to have God wipe them out. That is why Jonah refused to go. It was never a matter of not bothering because he was believed there was no chance of success.
